4th SBOIL Project meeting

On May 16th the 4th SBOIL project meeting was held in Rostock. Participants from all three partner institutions gathered in Rostock to discuss the actual state of the project. The first half of the day was filled with reporting about activities that were carried out in Rostock, Szczecin and Malmö. After the lunch the group went on a field trip to see the oil spill response vessel VILM, which has  Rostock as its home port. The master of the ship gave a tour and answered technical questions. In the afternoon upcoming activities were discussed. These include the Table Top Exercise, practical field trainings and simulator courses.

The Team is looking forward to a busy summer with a lot of practical implementation taking place.

 

SBOIL supports 7th IEEE/OES Baltic Symposium in Klaipėda

The Project SBOIL will the 7th IEEE/OES Baltic Symposium in Klaipėda in June 2018 with a dedicated session on Oil Spill Response in the South Baltic Area . The session will Focus on the SBOIL Project and national oil Spill Response aspects from a Lithuanian perspective. This includes a look in the past back on the accident of the „Globe Asimi“ 1981 in the waters near Klaipėda and the recent update of the Lithuanian national contingency plan in 2017.
